Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. inviteeq uses a short list of them. Most are there to make the service work: signing you in, remembering your language, or letting you back into an invitation you already unlocked. One is optional: if you allow product analytics, PostHog sets a cookie so we can see how the site is used and where people get stuck. We set no advertising cookies.
| Cookie | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token (or __Secure-authjs.session-token over HTTPS) | Keeps you signed in. HTTP-only, so scripts cannot read it. | Essential | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects the sign-in form against cross-site request forgery. | Essential | Session |
| authjs.callback-url | Remembers where to send you after signing in. | Essential | Session |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers whether you chose English or Hindi. | Essential | 1 year |
| wcm_country | Remembers which market's prices and currency to show you. | Functional | 1 year |
| wcm_tz_country | Remembers the country your browser's time zone suggests, so prices can be shown in your local currency before you pick a country yourself. Set by your browser, never from your IP address. | Functional | 1 year |
| invite_access_<invitation id> | Proves you entered the correct password for a protected invitation, so you are not asked again on every page. HTTP-only, and holds a signed value rather than the password. | Essential | 7 days |
| invite_viewed_<invitation id> | Stops one visit being counted several times when a page is reloaded. Counts views in aggregate only; it does not identify you. | Functional | 6 hours |
| wcm_analytics_consent | Remembers whether you allowed product analytics, so we ask only once. | Essential | 1 year |
| ph_<project key>_posthog | Set by PostHog only after you allow product analytics. Holds a random identifier so your visits can be linked into one session and, if you are signed in, to your account. Also stored in your browser's local storage. | Analytics (optional) | 1 year, or until you turn analytics off |
We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it stores no identifier in your browser and does not follow you between sites. It counts a visit from the page address, referrer, and general device and country information, all of it aggregated. It runs without asking because it stores nothing.
Product analytics (PostHog) helps us see which pages and features are used. If you allow it in the banner or at the top of this page, it sets a cookie so your visits can be linked into one session, and may record your visits to our site pages as a replay (clicks, scrolling and page changes) so we can see where people get stuck. Anything you type, your name and email, and the text and photos of your invitations are hidden in replays. Until you choose, or if you decline, it only counts visits: nothing is saved in your browser, there are no replays, and visits are not linked to your account. It never runs on invitation, guest or RSVP pages, and never records the pages that show your guest list or guests' answers. The data is held in PostHog's EU region.
You can change your choice at any time at the top of this page. Turning it off deletes the PostHog cookie and stored identifier, and from then on visits are only counted.
A few providers we rely on may set their own cookies when you interact with them directly:
Those cookies are governed by each provider's own policy, not this one.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer per-site controls. Be aware that blocking the essential ones will stop you signing in, and will lock you out of password-protected invitations.
